There's no need for there to be a "war." They were just letting her know not to expect that outcome again, and that she should let somebody know (or atleast give some sort of indication) before a race... otherwise it's borderline-ricer.

That would at least explain how "you murdered him on the launch". The LS1's tend to be stronger up top than our DOHC 4.6's but we usually can run better 8th mile times. I repeat, USUALLY this is the case.
