Viper GTS Well...it was not quite a kill since at the top of 4th gear he was about a half a car length (LOL...only a HALF CAR LENGTH) ahead of me but still.....my Camaro vs. a $100,000+ Viper GTS.....not bad if you ask me.....
What happened was:
1) I came up behind him at the light and when it turned green he floored it to show off :roll: .....(big deal......I did a better burn out than him....) but anyways...
2) He slowed down while I pulled over into the left lane and he gave me this cocky "bring it on" wave
3) We evened up at 30 mph (I was in second) and we both punched it.
4) we stayed at it all the way up till about 95 or so where we both dropped off (he had to turn at the next light).
5) As we evened up again his entire look on his face was different (wiped that stupid “I’m the ****” look of his face….). He realized he almost got outrun by a car 1/3 the cost of his.
Oh man…..that was the most fun I have had in a LONG TIME…..a good 50 shot or so and I would have totally have had him....
Now I can definitely say I can eat RT-10s for lunch

Re: Viper GTS Good job. I love humbling guys with thicker wallets than mine. Makes up for the envy I feel about not having that much $$.
I know the grin he had initially. I wiped one like that off a C5 owner's face when I totally blew his doors off a few weeks ago in a pickup race. He had the "I have a vette, therefore I must be faster than a Camaro" look. NOT ANYMORE! He got schooled.

Re: Viper GTS yeah, I beat a viper a couple months ago, the dude was behind me and I was praying he wanted to race, he revved his engine when we got to a stop and when I pulled out I waited for him and then we both nailed it, I swear I could see his eyes pop out of his skull when I was pulling away from him, hahaha, I pulled over shortly after but he didnt stop, he probably went home to cry, lol

Re: Viper GTS If the GTS is the hotter version of the RT-10....and it was close......then it stands to reason that a slower version would be easier (if you beat a Z06....then you can outrun a stock C5...)
After I wrote this I found out that they were not $100,000......I know I read something where a viper was that much (it was a while ago so I don't remember....) but it could have been something special...
I'm not disillusioned....I admit he beat me....but to have even kept up with him was a victory for me......its not reasonable to think that a Z28 (even with the mods I have) would even be able to keep up....
After I wrote this I found out that they were not $100,000......I know I read something where a viper was that much (it was a while ago so I don't remember....) but it could have been something special...

Re: Viper GTS We should just start callin this forum the Skepticism forum. You guys are asses. The guy has an extra 150 lbs of stereo equip and he only got clipped by a Viper and spent 3/4 of the price.

jury is still out :p). He posted it as a kill and it wasn't....just a little confusing. You even refer to it as a kill. And it was not. Borderline ricer mentality when you call something a kill and it wasn't. And we all rag the ricers for the same behavior.....No, not calling anyone a ricer here. Just calling attention to the fact that it wasn't a kill. And there was a bit of misinformation....just trying to clear things up. Any forum where there is misinforation you will usually find someone that will step up with more accurate info. That is all. Nice runs!!!!!!!
Sorry, Camaroguy, for hijacking the thread. Seems like you have a very nice set up on your car. I thin you could take a Viper from a dead dig.....that is their weakest spot.....the lauch. Peace.
