Default First real race against fox body...

Me and a buddy of mine who is a member on here (likestogofast) were at a gas station in my home town in N.C. when a guy who he raced in his SS rolled up in his fox body. I have heard of the guy through my friend about their race my buddy pwned him in his SS, but it is cammed and he has all the nice stuff. He had told the guy to race me because i was mostly stock except exhaust, and SLP flo pack. This was the first time i met the guy and we talked for a half an hour before we took off. He had a 91 fox with new heads, cam, cobra intake, underdrive pulley, some kind of cone air filter, 3.55 gears new racing clutch and he built his own transmission for the car( what he does for a living) he had not yet tuned his car for his new heads. I have a 00ss 6m exhaust, flo pack and my buddy scott. We start off at a 30mph roll i was in 1st and he pulled me a 1/2 car till 3rd and then i start pulling him we back off because of a turn. 2nd run we start about 60 this time we are neck and neck till 3rd then i pull him hard up to 130 about 1 1/2 cars. I must say in all my 12 years of driving i have never been in such an intense race in my life.

Roll racing is sounds like the fox would rape you from a dig.

When the fox guy gets his tune, the outcome should be different and a dig race would be better for him.

But a race is a race and that LS1 pulls up top!

Good Kill.

We both have raced at the 1/8 in our hometown. Not at the same time, but we were talking about it before we raced. He was only a tenth better than me and we both trapped at 85mph. I wasnt there for his, but i believe him, just a good guy no reason for either one of us to lie. Yeah I told him get your tune bro, and you'll be rolling for sure.

I was there for that race. The mustang is pretty much stripped down and the guy who owns it has poured thousands into getting it to run like it does. If IIRC the mustang has trickflow heads, cobra intake and 75mm throttle body, an e cam, longtubes, underdrive pulleys, is bored .030 over, is geared 3.55, and has a bbk intake. It is a strong car that is for sure and he is a good guy. But, he has put alot of money into a car that gets pulled up top by a basically stock ls1 that is heavier and carrying a 250 pound passenger not to mention the driver. There are a few loose ends he needs to tie up on the car before it is at its full potential. With a tune and a good suspension the mustang will definitely be a badass at the dragstrip but it lacks on the top end.
