Default My First C5

I have been wanting to race a C5 for a while now, and I got my wish yesterday. We met at the light and we started to admire each others cars. He complimented my exhaust note and asked if I wanted to run. He had another person in his car who was real eager to race. The light turns green and we hit it, I had a great launch and pulled about a car and a a half by about 60, he creeped up til he was about 5 feet from my rear by 80, then we stayed that way till 100 and then we shut down. But at around 90 I kind of felt I started to pull a bit more. We gave each other the thumbs up and went our seperate ways. Cool guy and finally a nice race that made my adrenaline flow.

I haven't run one yet myself. I have felt the wrath of a C6 though over 110!

Honestly, I'm not gonna complain. He had tons of momentum, he was cruising at like 90+ and I sped to catch up.. He hit almost knowing I was coming for him. He pulled 1.5-2 cars'ish and it was getting worse 110+ and I just stopped cause yeah... it's daytime and he clearly had me.

The ratio of Vette owners who race and the ones who don't is way not in our favor, atleast here in orlando

Most Vette owners are like that, but my wife and I are the total opposite, we also have a couple other friends with Vette's that would run at the drop of a hat. To be honest though, I cruise on the freeway at the speed limit most of the time. Im sure there are people passing me wondering what the hell is a Vette doing cruising the speed limit.

^Seconded. Most cars I see going 85 in the 55 are slow anyway.

The C6 will pull the F-body pretty hard up top but its really not that bad from a dig. I dont start pulling hard on an f-body with equal mods until about 50 mph.

nice kill the OP. Now leave the poor vettes alone.lol

Same for me as Quik Z06 and Sparetire( I too cruise the speed limit). Awesome kill. I have yet to run any Vettes either, but one day I shall, one day in deed.

Nice kill. C5 are formidable when or if you car is near stock. I remember my first C5 kill in my first cam only LS1 Camaro, while we were racing the guy in the vette kept looking over at my car, then watch the road, then look over at my car, and watch the road again as I was pulling away. He had a surprised look on his face, I guess he didn't know that F-bodies came with the same motor that he has in his Vette.

Yeah this guy did the same thing, but he was cool and gave me the thumbs up, usually when I beat cars that are on a higher price range than me (boxers, M3's,) they get all snoby and roll up there window.

Great Kill! I just got my first C5 kill a few weeks ago and I now have been looking for a C6 kill or more likely death!
