Hopefully it doesn't hurt toooooo much to think! For the record GM thinks one turbo is the best set-up. They do add 4 additional injectors to their mini race cars. Jake the stud that he is
, is getting a couple of rescue pits for room mates
. If they get along there could be some Jake Jr's. I think I'll name them after some of you. Thinking about that makes me want to
*** Clown #1, 2, 3, etc. also works.
Man I had almost dozed off and then someone had to say the Cobalt needs a turbo to keep up with a STI and EVO. Obviously you've never raced a FWD car? How can a AWD 300 hp. car be in the same class as a 205 hp FWD?
The old Z24 auto and manual were high 15 second cars at best. The SS Cobalt was a low 14 second car in almost anyones hands.
Thats a big improvement. INSURANCE killed the Cobalt SS.Same thing might happen to the 2009 Camaro SS with 400+ hp. You young guys can't keep the damn car on the road. Can't keep from driving them 140 mph. Can't keep from killing yourself and injuring others. ie Enjoy your ELECTRIC CARS
I think it would be awesome for Chevy to "represent" however and have a tuned and turbo'ed Cobalt at the $30k price range just to get in on some of that action. Marketing better would help this as well. Maybe in transformers 2, bumblebee's little sister (oops I mean brother) could be a cobalt turbo or something. A pink one.
TOY.
I would consider buying an AWD/turbo 4 banger, U.S. built GM (or even an Opel/Vauxhall built, imported one). It would be cool if they got into the WRC and started to kick Euro/Nippon azz there!!

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Just messin with ya. I actually think Cobalt SS's are comparable to Civic SI and Acura RSX but this thread is worthless without a kill story.
My young fellow American.
I bought a 1997 Z24 new. It was an automatic FWD with the LD-9 engine. All it needed was a little Nitrous and it was in the 13's, on street tires, in the 1/4 mile @ almost 104 mph, long before GM thought about changing the name from Cavalier to Cobalt. Long before GM retired the J-Body and built the Cobalt on the Delta platform. But hopefully since I went to the J-Body Bash at Lordstown Ohio in 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002 they saw how quick their little compact poop box could be.
All I was doing was keeping LS-1 informed.
BS alittle nitrous to make that z24 dip into the 13's my old DD 3.8l camaro would beat my bosses Z24 all day long and the camaro was a 15 sec car at best

I have a friend that has a non- ss cobalt, and I think it is a nice car to ride in, the interior quality is much higher than most domestic econo-boxes. Now I am not jumping the ls1 bandwagon, but the cobalt ss is a pretty fun little car that is even semi-drivable in the north-east winters.... whereas I am buying a camaro in the end of august and it will be going in the garage in the beginning of november.
The skittle can get pretty darn close to 400 whp on stock turbo, but it requires a lot more work than just going to a bigger turbo. You would need ported heads, about 30lbs of boost, a more aggresive cam, cold air intake, free-er flowing exhaust manifold, a custom intake manifold with a more efficient plenum, you could even go the methanol water injection route to get there. One of the most overlooked things with skittles is the tune.
