On my way to an appointment with my son I noticed red Mercedes pacing me. We were stuck in traffic and he was about a car in front of me in the left lane with me in the center lane. I notice that it was a SLK55 AMG, beautiful f'in car.
By the time we started to clear traffic, doing about 40 mph He jumped. I instantly floored it, spun quite a bit, but hooked in second. By 90-95mph I had 4 cars on him when we had to let off due to traffic. We both honked and gave each other thumbs up. Cool guy and very nice car.

 

Good kill! I have yet to run a AMG...but from what I've been reading...looks like I'll lose lol.

It was likely an 05'+, 5.4 v8's estimated 355hp/376t.

 

Yup 355hp/376 tq through a 7 speed automatic. Mine has run a best of 12.84 at 110.5 mph. I cruise/track with friends in the local F-body club and I win some/lose some - the best ones are the close ones though but it's all fun. Here's a short vid from a couple weenkends back running against a friend with a 00 SS (small cam, LT's, Borla, stock tuning). We were both running on stock street tires in a Street Car Shootout event.
