A previous gen (1990 - 2002) SL500 would be lucky to hit 14's. Even the V12 SL600 averaged low 14's. The SL is, as noted, a heavy car for it's small size and they really weren't performance oriented cars, still fun to pick on though! It's only with the AMG tuned 2002+models that they started putting down some decent numbers.

The SL500 has now been replaced by the SL550 with 380+hp and high 13's stock. AMG itself is slowly moving away from forced induction in favour of the larger displacement NA 6.3L Just an FYI

You're talking about the older SL600's, I'm talking about the new ones that car and driver ran through the quarter mile at 11.9

My bad...from your origional post I thought you had run against an older version, "1997-2000"? Those were the slow ones for sure and what I was referring to, not the current model(s).

The SL500 I ran was 1997-2000. The SL600 my uncle may buy is the new one. Guess I wasn't too clear.
