I am driving along minding my own affair when I see a car(LS1SS) behind me eagerly making its way through traffic. He finally gets along side with a little bit of room and punches it. I go and basically get up even with him and get just past him but I slow due to traffic. There is a red light up ahead 3 lanes wide with the center lane taken so I go to the right and the SS happily takes the left(our view of each other is obscured by the F350000000000 between us). Light turns green and I jump out just a bit to see if he is going.....he is. He got the jump but was bogging because it was an A4 and I guess he didn't have it loaded off the line. I hit it, spun, got squirrley in 2nd(saw Active Handling message) and reeled him in and put 2 cars on him(middle of 3rd...85mph) and shut it down. We got up next to each other in traffic at the next light. He said he had full exhaust and an intake. It was actually a pretty strong running car and the dude was cool. He had his chickie with him. We give each other props and go our seperate ways.

I cruise on for all of about 5 minutes when I happen upon a late model Trans Am. He makes a light and I don't so I have to play catch up. I get up to him and we are doing about 60mph when he goes and I start to reel him in and pull but we are on a pretty curvy road and I dont like slammin gears in the middle of a turn so I let up. We finally get up to a light with nothing but open road and no cars ahead. We are talking at the light. He said he had intake, exhaust and programming(LS1edit I assume). The light goes green and lets just say his reaction time(mid sentence talking about mods....nice diversion tactics) was much better than mine and he jumps out about 2 cars. I bog but my RPMs come up quick(M12 is good). Top of 1st, I am reeling in, top of 2nd I am at his door, top of 3rd I am about 2 cars out front(he is in reaview). I miss 4th but still manage to get it before he gains anything and we shut it down.

Cool guys both of them with nice strong cars. My explanation may sound like they were easy kills but they really weren't. They were good runs. One more major mod(ie gears or cam) on any one of those cars and it could have been a different story.

 

u say u have a m12.. is that with a gear splitter? either way sounds like fun. happy hunting

 

That is the transmission in the ZO6s....different from the MN6 in the regular C5(and I would assume F-bodys). Have a more agressive gear ratio. Probably why the ZO6s run a little better than what their Dyno numbers would suggest.
