Default Suggestions needed....GTO--VS--C5

OK, I know a fella with what sounds to be a pretty stout GTO. Sounds bad-*** when idling. So it's gotta have a huge cam, etc. Also noticing that when taking off he's got a hella stall convertor in it. Pretty much revs to 3-4K RPMs to take off.

Sooo, having said that. What's the best way to race this ride with a C5 standard. I'm guessing that lower RPMs would favor me, as his stall will slip until he gets up to speed.

I haven't driven a stall'd auto in years, so would appreciate some advice on how best to run these beasts....

If you're stock don't go from a dig. I'd go from a 3rd roll whereever your sweet spot is and powershift the hell out of it.

Where is a high stall car at a disadvantage? From a slow start or 30-40MPH?

Their advantage is always from a dig if they can launch good.

a roll would be to your advantage. you've got less drivetrain loss, better aero, probably better gearing for higher speeds(a guess), and less weight. maybe he's got a loose converter too.

Thanks for all the advice.

Guess I definately won't be going from a dig. In addition to his high stall, I'm fairly clutch friendly and have wuss (non-DR) tires out back. So a clean launch is definately not in the cards for me, any time in the near future.
