Default 02 LS1 vs. 95 LT1

Ok me and my friend raced the other night and he has a ls1 with Aluminum drive shaft, cat backs,tb spacer, and CAI. I have a Lt1 with CAI and no cats.

We did a 20 roll i stated in second hm in third (both A4's) three honks we go and he get a half a car until roughly 80 and starts pulling by 100 hes got 2-3 car lenght, we let off.

Then we did a 40 roll again he pulls again aound 80-90

And the next day we ran from and dig both in 3ed he gets a car on the jump, and i hold him with that till 80 and we let off.

It was fun, go ahead and flame the lt1 i know you will...

Edit* ls1 - 40,000 miles
lt1 - 7,000 miles

Nice death. Good thing you stopped at 80 cuz it would have only got worse. LS1s pull like a MOTHER up top. Get gears (4.10s)and some tires and go again.

All M6 LS1's came with aluminum driveshafts. All 3.23 A4 LS1's came with aluminum driveshafts. All 2.73 A4 LS1's came with steel driveshafts. Year had nothing to do with it.

LT1's keeping up/siding/pulling LS1's from 0-80 mph is very common, even with minor bolt ons favoring one or the other.

Not from my experience. If you're talking M6 LT1 vs A4 LS1 then I agree. But apples to apples it's very common for stock LS1's to run the 1/8 mile a few tenths quicker and a few mph faster.

I haven't had much dealings with LT1's but my buddy has a 96 SS that's he's wanting to work on a little bit so hopefully I will get to learn a thing or 2 about them. Good runs.

Doesn't matter what tranny, what year.
LT1's get off the line and shoot to 80mph as fast at LS1's, even with a little less power.
Thats why they are 1/8 beasts.
EVERY LS1 owner who formely had an LT1 will say the same thing.

I can ran stock/lightly modded LS1's all day and dig races will be very close to 80mph, every single time.
Don't lose to much sleep over it.

Also if the LS1 did NOT have Z-rated tire option you get a steel driveshaft, A4 OR M6.

Peace,
Craig.
