Exige vs SRT4

Exige vs SRT4 On the way into work this morning I see a black SRT4 pull up behind me on the freeway. Then he passed me so I pulled up infront of him hoping he would want to play. Then I gunned it and he stayed on my *** all the way to 100. 
Then I slow down and he gets beside me and we slowed down to 60. We do a 1,2,3, and we are off. He pulls about a half a car lenth ahead of me and I can hear is turbo over my exhaust! Then by the time we get to 120 he is about a car and a half a head of me. DOAH! We slowed down and I have him a thumbs up and asked if he was stock...and he shoock his head no.. He seemed like a really cool guy though. It was a really fun race
I gotta start driving the damn formula more often!!!! HAHA

I would say he had a BIG turbo..it was loud!! Louder then the ones you hear on an SVT. My exhaust is Stage 2 and its VERY LOUD...and I could hear his turbo over that. Its my first loss in the Exige. At least I know I would waste him in the turns.
My exige does not have a turbo or supercharger. Its an 06 Exige.

For it to be that loud, he could have just been running an open-downpipe on the stock turbo... my buddy has an '03 SRT-4 that he was running like that for a while, and it was DEAFENINGLY-LOUD when he would go next to me in my '98 Mustang GT that had an offroad H-pipe, cherry bombs (thank you previous owner), and turndowns. So my **** was loud too.

It was not his exhaust that was loud..it was the whistling turbo. Sounded like a missle going through the sky...then when he shifted gears you could hear the blow off valve or something. he was a really good sport about it all. You never know who is gonna beat you.

ahh..gotcha!
I would say this guy could safely run in the high 12's on the track..maybe mid 12's.
I needed more then 190 hp to beat this guy. Wished today I would have had the Formula.

My guess is that he was still on the stock turbo, and just running open downpipe with a few other mods... doesn't take much for SRT-4s to trap 105mph+. Buddy of mine on another site has the wastegate actuator mod (few more psi), intake, and exhaust and ran 13.2 @ 106mph I believe.

i only had two run ins with SRT-4s. one stock one in the DD T/A before i sold it (won by two cars from 40-95) and one HEAVILY built one in the whipwhipwhipwhip from 5-50mph (dead even....shiit)

He was stock turbo but not stock it sounds like. My stock turbo srt4 has run 108mph at the track. It's almost maxxed out though running 21 falling to 18 psi. Need a bigger one.

SRT4 = the american ricer you know you can always beat right? NOPE! hahahah
I beat a Cayman S and Boxster S over the weekend..so I am guessing this guy had over 300hp. I didn't know those things could hit 108 STOCK..bone stock? Grrrr..should have gotten the SRT 4 over the Exige and saved like 20k. naaaaaa...
When they're running an open downpipe off the wastegate, that's exactly what you hear; the turbo whistle.
