Well it was the first "nice" day out in quite awhile here in Central Illinois(41 degrees lol), So I decided to go wash my car and take her out for a spin. Well I hadn't driven it in awhile so I had to charge my battery, so I didn't make it out until dusk.

Well when I went to the car wash there was a 99-04 Mustang GT next to me washing his car as well. When he left I tried to see if he wanted to run'em but he got out of there pretty quickly lol.

Anyways, I was driving down one of our main drags and I come across a 2001 a4 Corvette that I recognized from my home town. This is the kind of guy who thinks his **** don't stink. He had told my friend one time that he would smoke his "cheap piece of ****" anytime he wanted, which happens to me a real nice 99 LS1 camaro.

So I roll up to him at a light but there are cars in front of us and he hasn't even looked at me yet. So I throw a friendly rev and smile at him, and he returns the favor with a snarl/cocky smile. I give him a nod and he just looks away. So the light turns green and I do a nice first gear pull past him and finally he points for us to turn onto a different street. Alright so I follow him onto this other street, and still in first gear, I get my nose about to his door and all the sudden he floors it.

Being in first gear, I had some quick reaction time so I floor it too.

When I hit 2nd gear I am still at his door and pulling up on him. Through 2nd gear I am inching up on him.

I hit 3rd gear very nicely and by the time i'm ready to hit 4th i'm about a nose ahead of him, and that's when he let off.

So we roll up to the light, and he asks me if i'm running NAWZ. I say no all I have is SLP Loudmouth and an SLP Lid. He says that I am full of **** because he puts out 50 more horsepower than me and weighs less. I say well that just shows how much knowledge you have about your own car then doesn't it? Then I just drove off.

And he's even wrong if he goes by the power ratings. SS=320hp, duh.

The funny part is I believe my SLP optioned SS was rated @ 345 HP so...yeah he's way off.

 

Every once in a while I come across a cocky vette owner and they can never just have a humble loss. I raced an 02 or so Z06 and was neck and neck with him until he missed a shift. We pulled over and talked and he was about to tear my car apart looking for...as you said NAWZ...lol.

Then again I used to work on vettes and alot of the owners are really cool guys.

 

all stock LS1s are rated 350hp from the factory, no exceptions.

 

^Pay attention. All LS1's HAVE 350 stock, they are not all RATED at that.
