porsche does the flyby hopefully you guys get a kick out of this. i was on my way home on a two lane road that turns into a one lane highway kind of. well down where it merges a vert porsche(guessing some type of boxster) is in the lane that runs out acting like i should let him in with nowhere to go
he even swung towards me,like into my lane. so me and another truck ended up in front of him. keep in mind my mom is with me. so the one lane is open in front of me so i just come up to speed not trying to go fast or anything and im cruisng 65ish a ways down the road and i see the porsche coming up on me not slowing like he was going to do a flyby. i put it in third and hit it. i used all of 3rd & part of 4th and by then i had widened the gap from 2 to 6-7 cars so i let off cuz i was done
then here he comes-ricer flyyybyy! revving haaard too

I haven't seen any numbers regarding the profitibility of the line, so perhaps it was a wise move from a business standpoint. The baby brother of the 911 (well, the "former" baby brother.....thankfully they now offer the Cayman and Cayman S, both of which are respectable performers) offers sub-standard performance at a nicely reduced price and it's release resulted in opening a gateway for a bunch of idiots to get behind the wheel of a 14 second car they think is very fast! I can honestly say that I've run into some pretty cool Porsche 911, Cayman and Cayenne Turbo drivers....unfortunately I can't say I've ever had a run in with a Boxster where the driver wasn't a complete *** clown! I've had several guys in bone stock, base Boxter's (not even the relatively quick "S" model) swear up and down their car would walk me like I was standing still! They might've paid more for their cars, however they are better matched to a Miata from a performance standpoint! HAHA!

The Boxster is actually a fantastic little car... the base ones aren't "fast," but they're certainly quick enough for the vast majority of people. And the "S" models are pretty good runners. In the turns they are VERY hard to match. It's a very good throwback to the 550 Spyder, but I do have to say that I like the Cayman better.
I concur Irunelevens.....the car is a fantastic car, it's often times the idiot behind the wheel that think their relatively quick car is the fastest thing on the planet. Personally, I think I have a pretty quick car, but I'm not naive enough to think I'm anywhere close to being the king of the highway! HAHA!

Those Porsches are about balance and handling, not laying down big HP numbers- they will cruise pretty good, geared too high to be a hole-shot machine. Nice toy if you have the bucks, but no such thing as a cheap Porsche- I almost bought a 944 a few years ago, needed lots of work, and lots of expensive parts- decided against it-
And is a SLP Ultra Z hood supose to impress me, son?

Yeah, no offense but that hood dosen't go well with the car IMHO. Everyone has their own taste but I would much rather have my SS hood.
