I think there are more "Mustang owners are dicks" threads than either of the two you posted. Obviously not everyone falls into that category, but to call someone a dick you would at least have to talk to them. This is a completely different story. I mean, come on, the mustang is wanting to race a truck...
I know I'm quite a bit slower than you, so it's a bit different BUT... I love going into races where I'm not 100% sure what the outcome is gonna be. It's the thrill of the chase

Did the voices in your head tell you that?

i agree whats the point in racing a car you know you'll destroy, i'd much rather race someone who has a chance to beat me. but anymore its hard to tell who's fast and who's not.

I never said I didn't mind a challenge. If you re-read what I posted it says "knowing you are going to lose from the start." If I pull up beside a C6 Z06 I'm going to grin because I know if he screws up I have a chance. If I pull up beside a BBC Nova with an 871 blower sticking out the hood I'm going to give him a thumbs up for an awesome car and go my own way. No sense in risking it on the street when you know for a fact your have no shot. That's just my opinion.

Stopsign I went to the track last week for the first time with this car and only got to run 2 passes. The first pass was a shakedown run and I went 13.2@110 with an 8.7@86 1/8th. I short shifted at about 5k and cut a blistering 2.39 60'.

On the second run I cut a 2.0 60' on Firehawk Wide ovals and went
8.2@76mph in the 1/8th missing third gear. I ran it out anyway and went 13.3@114. According to the previous owner it went 12.1@118. I don't know what tires he was on. I am not going to run the car for a while because it is in need of a tune badly. The previous owner also swapped an LS1 intake back on it so I'm probably making 415rwhp at best. So I need intake/injectors (105%DC) and a tune before I head back to the track.

I live about 20 minutes from Carolina Dragway.

Man your car has alot of potential! I see your car running easily 118mph! Itd be cool if we all got together and went to the track. Atlanta is my track. I absolutely hate Carolina Dragway! Its basically a 1/4th version of Ware Shoals. But I agree with you, the track is where its at. But I hope you have a cage, or you better get used to getting kicked out. I see it in your close future.

At least it's a 95 and not a 96... I actually enjoyed driving a 95 5 speed stang. Actually I think it was the first "(*Fast)" manual car I ever drove.

*Fast at the time. I was 15. It had a CAI UD puller and full exhaust. Lol.

Have you been to carolina since they re-poured the 1/8th? It was cold as ***** Thursday and It was hooking pretty good. The rest of the quarter is pretty crappy but I don't have to worry about 3rd gear wheel spin. I heard of a guy in an 03 Cobra getting wheelspin in the "3rd gear dip" and crashing last fall. I think it would be nicer if they actually had a tech inspection. They just look at the car as your rolling up to the water box to see if you left a trail. With a 9", some ET drags, and a fast intake I could see needing a cage as well. That's later on down the road though. The numbers in my sig were through an LS6 intake (which I no longer have).

No I haven't been back to that track. After driving for nearly 2 hours (atleast it felt like that) and most of it 2 lane roads while going through 3 or 4 little towns only to get to a track that has a gravel parking lot and seeing the burnout box goes UP HILL. I figured that place wasn't for me. Its faster to get to Commerce for me, plus it is hella better. The only bad thing is they are very **** about tech, and they don't like me!

Yeah I have heard that commerce is Tech **** town. I think they are trying to improve on the track but its taking some time. At least they have decent stands now lol. Once I get my car straightened out I might have to make a trip to the ATL with the rest of the guys. Actually, If I get it tuned at Vengeance we could hit the track on the way back. Time will tell.

C'mon, now..."you Mustang boys..."

We aren't all like that, lol. If you're quick, you know it, no reason to show off all the time.

SDR is silver dollar raceway down towards Macon, GA. If your talking about the dragstrip up in cumming i'm not really that close about 2.5hrs.

Those times were my last time at the track before the heads, traction bars, injectors and tune at FULL weight 5060lbs. I haven't been able to get back yet, but the heads really woke it up and we figure it'll run mid-low13s at full weight on street tires. Hopefully I'll find out in a few weeks.
