This race goes back some time when the slp car was in its prime; Long before the car became trash.
Back in the day I was rolling with a good friend, he owned as listed, The car had ported lt4 manifolds 2.5 cat y and slp 2otl, 1le susp, filter, hurst, All slp factory, Stone Stock. We both had a HPPIII, I took out my tune(seeing he doesn't run his) and we set rev limiters at 6300. He was a damn good driver as he'd occasionally dance it in 3rd. The car ran consistent 13.35's@106and change. strait up the car was fast. My mods were the same then, listed in SIG only difference I ran the Loudmouth w/ no muffler. We never really lined up for some good runs but once. Races went as so- Filters pulled, windows up, 4runs. 1st run, 50 roll lined up, 1 2 3 honks and and he takes the hit, gone. Shut it down early. Race 2, my honks, 123 I take the slight hit and he still jumps out through 2nd and continues his pull, I shut her down early. Now Im in confusion and pissed, But I think iv learned his trick. We crack windows and cruise for a little while until we find some good road.. Found. RUN3_ 50 roll his honks. 1, 2, 3 We both Jump out and its dead even through 2nd and he immediately shuts her down. AH! Iv got his trick! Now! 4THRUN- 55 roll 1, 2, we jump it Launching off the limiter and were dead even, 70mph dead even 6300 pwrshift dead even pull, Top of third is comming and hes moved out maybe 1/5car I dare not take my eyes off the tach as his ram air sucks in my ear. 6200 Slam 4th, Iv cought up the length And were Dead even Running in triple digits comming up on 120, I have no intention of entering 5th and were both fighting for the last inch as we rip it off the limiter at a bucktwentyfive were we shut it down. I think we were both in shock, that once we pulled the cars over we had nothing to say each other, and ended the night like that. I will never forget that race I had, as its seared into my brain. I dont think I drove the car foranother 2 weeks.

Yea, that was back a good while ago, I picked up a couple little tricks like that, That I use to whoop some Ls1'S every now n' Then.

 

I just don't see why theres always a complaint; When someone's lite bolt on Lt1 steps on an Ls1's face, someone freaks out and throw's a Red flag.
