Default My Formula vs. EVO 10

So this kid got the first EVO 10 in my area and hes actully pretty cool guy so a friend of mine set up a race between us. I wanted to go from a dig but he didn't because he doesn't really know how to launch it yet which is understandable, its still new. Well we go from a 30 roll and I put about 3 cars on him by 120 then we line up again from a 30 roll and I guess he hit his shifts better because I only put 2 cars on him then up to 120mph. Like I said the owner is a cool guy and if and when he ever wants a rematch or to go form a dig i'm down for it.

His car is a real manual, I think a 5 spd, it wasn't that DSG manumatic bullshit.

Eh. I don't like the new evos.
They're pretty fugly and slower in a straight line then the previous MRs.

yea, but they rape the evo 9's around a track..evo 10's run high 13's and thats because they are AWD from a roll they are more like a mid 14 sec car.

I can't believe the new ones are slower than the old ones yet again. That sucks.

That is incorrect, The EvoX went a full second slower then the previous model, I do not remember the track.. Had got into It with a new pretty Red/black evoX around a week ago. Sounded like an all out exhaust and didn't catch what else. We cought a run from 65ish on the Highway, Gave em' a car and I took the hit, He Jumped out not much, Ran him down, And he Hung damn well with me up near 120. Has as much topend as a Stock Lt1
Guess that exhaust opened up some good ponies though?

wath out if he gets a tune, boost controller, and exhaust. The stock afr on those cars is around 10 to 1 ant the tune is junk. I would not be surprised if he picked up 100 horsepower from those three mods alone. Real surprising but true, if you dont believe me look it up.

The EVO X's are heavy *** cars. With driver, they will easily tip in over 3,500-3600lbs. Yikes! Same BHP. I don't believe there's any tuning software available for them yet. BUT, they are still picking gobs of power (close to 100whp) from boltons only with NO tune. They also make less power on the stock turbo than the 8's and 9's do. I believe it's smaller. Still sucks they keep making that car heavier and heavier. The EVO 1 to 6 were in the 2650-2800lb range. The new motor in them (4B11T) needs to be proven too. It's showing potential.

Nice kill!

Local shop went 11.4 @114 with just tune and exhaust in an evo ten. Dead stock they are slower, but they love the mods and tuning.

Wow, that's impressive. I'd be pissed if I got beat by an Evo with just a tune and exhaust, and it sounds like it would happen unless I ran him from a roll.

The boost is upped too (obviously) but I consider that in "the tune".

Of course that boost is jacked up, Along with others. What, do you really think he only has an intake and only a exhaust to run 11's? Thats like the dude in the corner saying his bros mustang 5.0 runs 12s with an intake then find out hes got a 200shot. EvoX I played with had an open exhaust and ill say wasn't no 100hp gain. especially if he couldn't run me down.

I would be scared to tune that car and void the warranty, knowing their track record and having just payed out the *** for that car i think i would try to leave it as stock as possible for a while. I guess you might be able to detune it back to stock pretty easily but i would not count on that.

It may not be a 100 horse gain, but I would definately say that their is a realistic 50 or so horse to be seen.

here you go, mitsubishi must have had a screw loose when they designed the tune.

It's not that they jack the boost up, it's just that a boost controller makes it hold more up top. They still run the same peak boost in midrange, but they're holding 4-5psi more up top which can net a decent amount of power. On top of that their stock tune is horribly rich. So a boost controller, intake, exhaust, and a tune can net around 100whp.

They might need to up the boost on the low end really because I walked the **** out of him from a 30mph roll, as in he was never in front of me. It should be interesting to see what happens if he really gets an extra 50whp from those basic mods.
