Default Sleeper Saleen!!

Alright this kill is about 2 weeks old but ive now been informed by reliable sources as to what mods my opponent had so i can post it with confidence.

So were all at Sonic and this particualr night its absolutely packed with solid sportscars. This cat that is known around the area for having one of the faster f-bodies (h/c 408 w/spray) comes to talk to my boy about his new h/c zo6. During this chat he mentions that they are going to one of the spots to make a couple of runs however hes not in his car. Hes in his cousins 3 week old regular plain jain grey GT. Since its so new i figure that its prolly close to stock so im like **** it im down. I even asked him "IS IT STOCK OR WHAT?" his reply? "I dunno im just with him". So we make it out there and there are several faster cars setting up runs. I genuinely think that either these guys planned on calling out one of the faster cars later or calling me out later. It was getting rediculously late (1 a.m.) though so i told em i thought theyd be the best race for me out of the cars present, so lets go cause im going home. At first they wanted to wait to see how some of the faster cars ran but they eventually agreed. I hop in and line up and they take forever in the dark without turning on the car (turning on bottle's maybe? i thought). Anyway they finally pull up and ask for a 40 roll to which i agreed. They honk 3 times and we leave at the same time and immideately he walks me by like a car and a half and its just getting worse. We get out of it and i tell him lets go from a dig, to which they agree. So we turn around and he honks 3 times again and i nail the launch. My tires planted well and i instantly pull a car on the 5spd GT. I watched him freeze in my sideview at the same spot to 110. For the last race he says his buddy cant honk and drive so i say thats fine. I honk three times and the results were exactly the same only all the way to 130-135, with him froze to my rear bumper. I just continued home, thinking to myself, "man thats bullshit if i see them later and they say its stock". I race those things every weekend and never had one hang like that. He had to be spraying. Well, fast forward 24hrs and im at Sonic again and the GT along with several other cars were leaving to race and i ask one of the guys present the night before if he ever found out what it had. He tells me it has a Saleen s/c on like 6psi totally sleeper style. Jake confirmed it last night so now i believe it. Minus a Terminator, GT500, and 5.3 Cobra R i dont think theres any left on the list. All in due time though. Driver of the Saleen didnt do too bad of a job bangin the gears either but...yea.
Kinda funny Martin wasn't hanging out the passenger window videotaping with his phone when they were behind - somehow I bet we never see those parts of the video!!HA!! Oh well, i got witnesses.

Good runs, but I kind of lost you at the end there.

Nice runs. I know a couple people who chose to run a Saleen blower on 8 or 9 psi because they're so quiet and they win a lot of money that way

Martin is the kid who was riding shotgun in the GT, he was orig gonna be the driver but i guess his cousin decided to do it himself. I gotta give the Saleen that - that dude counts for like 4 people + a big *** stereo.

40mph is actually kind of a dead spot... 50mph is a good spot to start. Right in the middle of 2nd gear. Either that, or 25-30mph.

I lost to one like that aswell. Silver GT with saleen front kit, but had full exhaust (loud as all hell) and 5psi on the blower. I hooked first and was having a good lead, but at about 60 mph he passed me and by 95 he was 3-5 cars up. I was stock at the time, but I might be able to hang better now.

40 aint no dead spot. its just over 3,000 rpm's and i beat my buddies charger from a 40 roll and hang with my buddies 69 camaro from a 40 roll also...if its a dead spot then i need to go a little faster in second and do it from there!

I'm running the Saleen blower, but at only 4.5 psi. It is VERY quiet. Funny too, cuz alot of guys look under my hood and have to ask where the s/c is....even though the blower housing has "Saleen Supercharged" right on the top. Without the lettering it would almost look like a fancy intake manifold.

Sounds like it was a pretty good race.

I had my best results from a 45-50mph roll in 2nd, but my car made peak power at 5,100rpm. That gave me 15-20mph to work with before I had to shift.

?

i think he's talking about his old car which is an edge just like mine. 40 isn't dead at all but i think it does pull a little harder when its closer to 4K.

Your right you cant see the S/C most ppl look for a chrome round s/c but dont think about the root style on top of the intake manifold. Nice Car.
