Default Driveshaft vibration

wasnt sure where to post this but my main suspect is a bent torque arm. i have an LT1 T/A. replaced the driveshaft with and aluminum LS1, nothing, new u-joints and balance, nothing. if its not the torque arm what else could it be? the torque arm doesnt look bent. all new bushings in the back, new torque arm bushing. nothing. any ideas?

if your launching hard you could have bent an axle shaft or the housing if your still using the ten bolt. also could be your trans mount...stock could be broken possibly. check your tires make sure they are balanced and have adequate air. also did you have the new shaft balanced or checked for out of round? and this should go one section up, not in suspension & brakes.

its like an on-off switch. you can barely feel it at 80. by 85 you can hear it rattling everything in the car

Check your crank pulley, I had an ASP round out on me and cause a vibration throughout the drivetrain.

i point to the rear, im telling you i chased a similar vibration for 2 years. the first mod i did was gears & shafts only, car was never on anything but street tires but picked up a vibration. this is all i did (in order) but still didnt rid the vibration...i had the stock shaft balanced, then broke a tail shaft housing, replaced that & broken stock mount, new slip yoke, new mount, new u joints, new driveshaft, new performabuilt trans, new converter, put stock shafts back in, new rotors, new pads, new tires, new rims, nothing changed. i even bought subframe connectors and it helped it a little actually but it was still there. so my next step was to replace the entire drive train lol which i did new motor mounts, motor, m6 swap, and 9 inch. now most of this was coming any ways but what i think you have is a bent axle shaft tube because the 10 bolt sucks.

^ i left that because i didnt want to delete all i typed, but i saw u said it changes when the car compresses. that leads me to think pinion angle as the other guy said but when i lowered my car it didnt hurt anything. maybe you think its a rotational vibration but its actually exhaust related? even if its a long shot check it out just to rule it out. thats why i changed so many things, so i could rule them out. i kno you said its not rpm related but does anything change when you play with the throttle? like is the vibration under acceleration or deceleration or neutral?

I hate vibrations lol, looking back mine would get worse also when out of gear. to me taking it out of gear makes w/e worse because the load from the engine isnt there. but if you coast and its there with the engine at idle i still go to the rear but i see your an m6, how many miles are on that? it could be something in there. when i sent my trans to tick they said its a good thing i did because the guy i bout the t56 from didnt finish the rebuild. so the different things woulda caused a vibration and noise (car was orig. a4 car). so maybe get this out of the suspension and brakes section and move to the gears and axle or m6 trans section. but before you create another thread i would pm tick and just see what they say. any little insight could help.

I'm an A4 car and have had a bad vibe for 6 months, I've been doing alot of reaserch lately since I broke my tranny....(again)..... because I want this vibration gone to the point where I dont want my car back till its smooth again and I can go over 80 frieken mph without loosening the fillings in my teeth!...

I think mine may be related to the used "stock" aluminum DS I got from a wrecking yard when I twisted my stocker. It seems the new DS is about 3/4" too short somehow and the extra gap between the end of the transmission tailhouse and the flange on the slip yoke is causing the vibrations.

I hope this works!!!! New 3/4" longer shaft will be in this week, will update this post regarding whether or not this horrible vibration is still there...
