Default Serious caliper problem..

i hit the brakes hard today to get off on an exit and i noticed an awful rubbing noise, and it got even worse as i slowed down and finally came to a clunking stop. The right rear brake caliper has come out of its position on the rotor and is layed up against the inside of my wheel and rubbed a small thin line out of the inside of my wheel.. Wish i had a picture, im no brake expert but im guessing the caliper bolt has broken or come off...?? anyone that has had this happen please chime in, let me know what im looking at here(repairs)...luckily my house was less than ten seconds away and its outside now but i have no garage and its freezing, have to work on it later tomorrow..

Pull the wheel off and check the bolts(2 slide pins and 2 bracket bolts) I had an issue recently where my bracket bolts backed off and one was completely missing...caliper was dragging inside the wheel and left that nice 1/8 gauge. Bolts are less than $20. Hopefully it's just the bolts. Good luck with it.

yea it shouldent be a big problem, it would only be the bolts, it might have just fell out, are your pads still there?
