Default What causes this?

What are some reasons that swaybar brackets break like this?

Top one is drivers side, bottom one is passenger side. These are stock brackets with ES poly bushings/endlinks for a 32mm 1LE front bar on my 4th gen - rear is fine with 19mm OEM with poly bushings/endlinks.

Can this be considered "normal wear and tear" or is there something else I need to correct (besides driving habits )?
Where can I find replacements or upgrades to these?
Would I want to have stronger brackets or would it just tear up the mounts?

P.S. I already replaced them with some stock ones I got for free from an LS1 WS6... Not safe to drive around with anything broken or missing in the swaybar assembly.

Well it clearly looks like the brackets broke because of flexing.

GM# 10259206, CLAMP-FRT, $7-$12 ea.

Already replaced them with stock parts. Was wondering if I just got unlucky or I'm supposed to be using better or differently sized brackets with the Energy Suspension poly bushings. I don't remember getting new front brackets with the bushing kit...

IMO, if it's happening often Yes something's wrong. But most likely from 9+yrs of flexing I wouldn't worry about it .

That happens because the brackets they bolt to--that in turn bolt to the body, are broken (which is quite common) and it causes the u-brackets to flex to and snap.

You need to replace the mounting brackets the u-brackets bolt to as well.

Lightbulb

There's less flex in the ES bushings so that causes more pressure on the clamps .
