Default Springs & Shocks

I am about to buy the Eibach Sportline Springs 1.6" drop in the Front & 1.4" in the Rear. My question is do I have to get new shocks with these springs or not?

You don't HAVE to, but the springs will kill the stock shocks quick. I would wait on the install until you get the shocks.

Even with new "quality shocks", the Eibach Sportline very short free spring length combined with a very low and inadequate spring rate will result in one nasty ride.

If it's solely looks, then you could probably tolerate having stock shocks. If you could use a better ride quality, then you should look to a better set of springs combined with a good set of shocks.

Any sugestion on Better Springs that will give me about the same look? I don't want to slam my car just kill the fender gap that I have with my 18's. About 1 1/2" is about what im looking for. What shocks do ya'll recommend, Low end to high end Price wise? Also If I put 305's on my car will I have a problem with the tire hiting the fender well After I lower it 1 1/2" like I want to do? And Ride is very Important to me my car rides great now would like to keep it that way.Thats why im not just cutting my spring like my friend wants me to do. Thanks and if anyone has any Pictures of Camaros Lowered about
1 1/2" that would be nice to see, Sportlines or any other kind. Thanks for your help.

I'm still a fan of springs that have a proper spring rate combined with something around 1" to 1.2" lowered. I have found that this range of ride height tends to be quite low enough whilst not screwing with a lot of suspension geometry problems.

AFA what shocks are currently available at the moment, either Koni SA's or KYB's at a distant second (provided you do not want to spend the money on Koni SA's, but their quality doesn't come close to Koni's).

Any other direct OE fitting shock out there will not be properly valved to dampen the springs. Whilst there are those who "don't mind" having aftermarket lowering springs on improperly valved shocks, it's highly not recommended.

I second what Foxxtron said. If ride quality is very important to you stay away from sportlines, and you will need good quality shocks. You will get the best ride quality with stock springs and good shocks (also note with 17" wheels or smaller). Many of your questions can be answered with a search as well as finding pictures of lowered cars (check the sticky at the top).
