Default Four Link

Here are my thoughts. I have a older ford 9" and its going in my car. I dont really want to deal with a torque arm. Personally I think a four link is a better option. The torque arm puts stress on the center of the housing which puts stress on the gears. Four link puts the force into the wheels. Its like when you hold a pencil on the ends and push on the center, but with a four link you push further out on the ends. I have some really nice rod ends setting in the shelf and their looking for a home. I can build about anything and have access to a cnc plasma cutter, so building brackets isnt a problem.

So should I?

What are you confused about? If you have all the resources and access to to all the equipment then do it if you want to.

Most likely because the torque arm is tried and true. So many people have made improvements on it since the factory started using it that all the time and money that installing a 4 link under your 4th gen would take, just wouldn't be worth it.

Just kinda like one of those "did it just because" things you know?
