Quick brake question--PLEASE HELP! I'm trying to finish changing rotors on my 99 SS before it gets dark. I changed the front and that was easy. I took the rear calipers, and brackets off and the rotor won't slide off like the front. How does the rear rotors come off? Shouldn't it be just like the fronts?
You dont have the parking brake on do ya?
It has a drum on the inside of the hat of the rotor that the p/b shoes push against.
Sometime the p/b shoes need to be de-adjusted to slide the rotor off.

I still had to go to the store and buy a BFH (3 lb mini-sledge) to get one of my rears off... I beat on it for a while with a 1 lb rubber mallet and a ball pein hammer (1 lb) and it went nowhere. One whack from a 3 lb hammer and it popped right off....
