On subarus replacing them makes a huge differance.
but they look a lot different and they are not made of rubber

gotta luv old threads.......but the answer is......the bushing is not really stressed......so it can only deteriorate from old age.......and those of us who have taken out the rack know.......there is only 1 bushing in the rack...the other side is solid metal
