Default Front Strut install question

Trying to get some piece of mind here and maybe figure out why my old strut mounts failed. Can someone tell me, or better yet, have a picture/diagram of the strut/washer pieces in order of installation. I have a set of Koni's that I bought from Sam last year. So does it go strut, washer, mount, another washer, nut? That seems to make sense to me, but I'm missing a washer, only have one per side. Or does the mount just sit on what is a fairly wide ring on the top of the strut where the adjust window is? That would make it strut, mount, washer, nut. The washer I have is the oversize one sent with the Koni's. The factory ones were either lost or disentegrated in rust, 120k miles and had to cut the old mounts off with a cutting wheel. Any help would be appreciated, car is on jackstands with the driver side all taken down atm.

Factory ones don't have washers.

It is strut, mount, isolator (the smaller piece that sits down in the mount), washer, nut.

I just had both sides torn apart, rebuilt the passenger side, waiting on a new mount for my driver side. So, like you, I had to cut stuff apart and the car is on jackstands.

Ah, ok, that makes sense. So it looks like I'm missing this isolator piece, althouth I'm not sure where it would go. Can you describe it or post a picture? FYI, I'm using factory GM replacement mounts.

Looks like this piece on the left:

It sits down in the little "cup" of the strut mount on the top:

Ah that makes sense, definitely don't have that piece, but I have it ordered from the dealer. It must have been stuck inside the old mounts and looked like a part of it. They were able to find me the mounts, but other parts are still on backorder. I went ahead and tore it down and looked like I had everything, but didn't feel right for some reason. Anyone aftermarket have that piece? Really need to get the car back together this weekend if possible.

Looks like Napa shows it on their website, part NCP2613197.

Do you still have the old mounts? Grab them from there.

Advance Auto may be able to order them and have them for you the next day.
