Default Rollcage & Subframe connectors

I have subframe connectors but have not installed them yet, I was told not to bother installing the subframe connectors because I plan on putting a roll cage in the car. What would you guys say? No need for subframes if you are getting a cage installed?

You need the subframe connectors also. It will tie the car together better.

To get the full benefit of tying the factory frames together, you would need to breach the floor pan and weld directly to the subs. Just putting plates down on the pan isn't good enough to get the full benefit.

I have a decent 6 point cage in my Firebird AND sub-frame connectors. I still get tearing and seperation at the transmission cross member structure of the car. The spot welds have been pulled through the floor pan in front of the passenger seat.

I have stitch welded the factory cross brace to the floor pan and repaired where the cross member blind nuts were being ripped out of the brace.

I run stock LT1 power on Toyo RA1 race tires.

So, a cage and SFCs don't eliminate the chassis flex even at low power levels and marginally decent tires.
