Question steering issue

I did an ls1 swap into my v6 firebird a few months back and im having some steering issues. When the swap was complete the wheels where wayyyy out of alignment. squealed going down the road on the 1st test run. well I went and got it aligned and it drives straight but turns a little sharper to the right then the left. Now the mechanic told me he had to tighten the left tierod as far as it would go to align it. so basically the left tierod boot looks all bunched up and the right looks normal.

What could be the source of the problem?

if its straight but the cornering is off I would be looking at a camber issue possibly. Did you change the springs in the front to compensate for the bigger motor?

are you sure everything is tight? sounds like something could be loose.
