alignment specs.....before I go
1--go before to get stock settings, then go after install to get back to normal
2--just go after with specific specs to shoot for
3--go after and just let the alignment shop do their work
What should I do? Are there good specs to shoot for (just my daily driver, but I want the handling to be great)? If there are specific specs to shoot for, or should I just let the shop loose? This is on a 2000 V6 Camaro convertible on stock 16s--going to 17s next week. Should I put the 17s on before I get an alignment? Mods so far are UMI subfame connectors and strano front/rear sway bars. Koni's will start on a 1 sweep from full soft rear and a 4 sweeps from full hard front.
How does this sound?
Thanks!
Jeremy
What are good alignment specs to get the car back to normal. (The camber is way off).
As for the settings. Sort of up to you on camber, but recommend toe and caster be in GM spec. The more negative camber, the more front cornering grip--but also the more inside tire wear, it's a trade off. They want stock cars to wear tires well, and understeer so the stock specs are set to get that.
If you aren't tracking or autoxing the car, you don't want a huge amount of camber. I'd recommend a range of about -.5 to -1 depending on what you are after.
