how many miles do they last? and what are the symptoms of one going out? checked through SEARCH and nothing

Depends on many factors, they could last only 10,000 miles, or maybe 100,000+ with good ones.
One symptom of them going bad other than the obvious leaking is the ride becoming more floaty and disconnected, also possibly more choppy and jarring.
