Just by looking at the pics it looks like you could swap the k member out without taking out the engine. Could you swap it out in the driveway if you just supported the car and engine, or is it too hard to put the steering rack and susp components on with it with the engine still there?

I swapped mine on a lift.. but, yes you could do it in your driveway. Just make sure the engine is supported well.
