Default Torque Arm

Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that a trans mounted TA drives nice and doesn't transfer much noise or vibration. Where as the Crossmember mounted TA does transfer vibration but can take more power correct?

My concern is I want to get an Adj. TA probably UMI but this car is a weekend warrior and won't see hardly any track time at all. Mostly, cruising and highway rolls and the occasional dig. So I want to run the trans mounted TA if possible. But at what point is it necessary or recommend to make the move from trans to crossmember?

As said my car won't see much for launches and if it does they won't be more then 3k dumps. Will it ever warrant the need for a Crossmember TA?

thanks.

It's "claimed" the chassis mounts have more NVH than the trans mount. I put one on and it actually seemed to be quieter/ride better. Plus, the tranny mount takes the force of the launch and you could hurt the tailshaft eventually. I vote for crossmember ta.

I have a UMI adj. T/A on my WS6....you will get some clunking and road noise from it, but for me it's well worth it.

Hello,

Thanks for the interest in our product and I will be glad to our help.

Based on your driving you would be 100% fine with a transmission mounted torque arm. Based on how you are looking to use the car I feel you will not apply enough stress to the tail shaft to cause any issues. If you do decide this would be an issue down the road you can always add a torque arm relocation kit which will work with this torque arm. Here is a link to this item- http://www.umiperformance.com/catalo...ex&cPath=7_116

Here is the torque arm I recommend for your set-up- www.umiperformance.com/2205

If you have any additional questions please ask and I will be glad to help.

Thank you!
Ryan
