Yep - I replaced my fronts and most of my brake shimmy went away. A little is still there, but I no longer feel it through the wheel, only the brake pedal. So I figure the rears are warped.

Most likely if when you start braking and then feel a "shimmy" in the car it would be the rear brakes. I have replaced front brakes before and had new rotors that were not true ("straight"). BUt if you dont feel a warp feeling in the wheel its most likely the rears. It could also be a bent rim/ unbalanced tire(?). Id check it out by going about 30mph and push in the button on the ebrake and hold it in while pulling up slowley while coasting (aka. only applying the rear brakes) if you feel the warp, there is your problem.
later,
Eric

Yeah ive got same prob too. Car shakes bad sometimes when stopping, changed front rotors. prob is still there. I still have orginial rotors on rear. definetly warped.

the ebrake idea won't help on an ls1.... our e-brake is an internal drum system, it does not use the disc brake pad
