EBrake handle loose......?
EBrake handle loose......? The ratcheting mechanism has slipped a few times, almost like it is coming off the track...
I recall there was a writeup on this board on how to fix this, or atleast what to look for
Oh, when the e-brake is set, my brake light is not working.....
Any feedback is appreciated...

If you look down inside the e-brake mechanism when the handle is pulled up there is a small silver flat-metal bar (most everything else is black) that sits on top of the rachet-teeth. If you push on the front of this silver bar, while pulling back on the handle, the handle will pull all the way up/back and it won't pull the brake cable or put the brakes on. So first, chock the wheels if you or going to dick with this. Second, maybe something is keeping the silver bar up or twisted a little out of position by something inside the e-brake or on the side of the passenger seat. I hope this helps.
