Default Tunnel Brace Needed ?

I really don't know what this does but I read the description on BMR's website. Was just wondering if it's something worth having or not ? Any feedback on this piece would be great.

most people seem to replace it with a driveshaft safety loop

Hello
Like mentioned above it is to a critical piece. A lot of people just either remove them or like above just replace them with a DS Loop. If you are interested in a DS loop below is a link to show you 2 different styles that UMI Performance has to offer!

If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help!
Thanks

if you look at the mounting brackets...they are thin guage steel. not very reinforcing.

So are you saying it is critical or isn't? I havent had mine in for years and I have noticed that the car doesnt handle like it used to. I have been a a few other friends cards that are near stock (as far as suspension and chasis stuff goes) and their cars seem to handle better than mine. I am just trying to track down my cars handling issues and have been wondering if this is it for some time.

Hello
There is so many different possibilities that it could be rather than the factory tunnel brace. What do you have done to your suspension as far as upgrades? Because if it is still stock. I would suggest that your rubber bushings in the LCA's are shot and if they are shot its possible they are else were such as pan hard bar. I would also suggest looking into the condition of the hardware. Get back to me with your upgrades and I will be more than glad to help you figure out what a solution would be.
Thanks

I agree...a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link, and in this case, I think it's the mounting tabs on the floor. Having said that, I did have one of these tubular braces, but took it off, as it reduced ground clearance significantly.
