Default 3rd Gen LS Conversion K-member Question..

Quick question..

I'm thinking about dropping my 408/T56 into a 3rd Gen.. are these LSX Conversion K-members that are sold by some of the sponsors here designed to keep the Engine/Tranny in stock location to where you can use the stock Drive Shaft without issue?

I ask cause I'm looking into how the Tranny would mount up..

Our LS1 conversion K-member keeps the engine in the stock location so the transmission crossmember is still in the stock location. Our K-member also saves you 30# over the stock K-member and has increased clearance for headers and accessories.

Our K-member is also the only one to keep the a/c compressor in the factory location (down low)

Looks good..now how bout LS1 F-body Headers with that thing..will they work?

I don't believe so I think Hawks 3rd Gen offers a set for the swap...

Nope. Hawks are the only ones. BMR, Spohn, and umi all make the conversion k-member. Currently I have the BMR...I might change to the UMI later. I made my own headers.

I got a BMR also.. Works great. Opens up a lot of space!
