Question TQ Arm Angle ???

okay my 02 t\a is mostly stock in suspension i just got some 315 35 17 nittos in the rear and a random adj TQ Arm and i was reading on angles i mplan on doing sfcs and lcas and latter adj shocks what do you all think i should set the ange on the Tq Arm to be and WHY ... im tring to learn this stuff so any good explination of how it all works is helpful to me and would be GREATLY appriciated as of now i barely get wheel spin and minimal wheel hop the car is my only one but i only drive it about 5k a year i dont wanna be breaking stuff and i heard too much angle ill do that so let me have it please enlighten me on how this all works and some of the dos and donts of rear suspension....

ya might try throw in a -2 pinion angle in there, it should help the tires to bite a tad bit more. ;D

using an angle finder, place that sucker on the trans. mark your reading on there, and then swap over to the diff. adjust the tq arm to 2-3* (nose upward) of the driveshaft, but dont go any more than 5 or so. you really have to just play with it until you find the best setting for your car.

I've heard -3* is a good place to start. I would imagine the farther you go - or + the more stress your putting on parts. This might be why some guys break theirs and also why you've hear they wear faster

According to the instructions I got wiht my adj SLP torque arm, pinion up = poor traction, and pinion down = improved traction. They supplied a nifty (cheap) little magnetic angle meter. The stock setting has the pinion up a couple degrees. For better traction, they recommend pushing it down a tad. I haven't had it to the track yet with this setup, so I can't verify it works. But it is how I recall from years back when we setup the race car.
