Default ABS on the Side or Top of Pumpkin?

Just curious, I've been told that it can be set up either way.

If your car has Traction Control it will have 4-channel ABS and you will have a wheel sensor mounted at the end of each axle tube.
If your car does not have TC then you have 3-channel ABS and your wheel sensor will be mounted on top of the pumpkin.

Many thanks man. TByrne had me look under the car and said that if I see the black lines going out along the axles, then I would not be able to switch out my brake backing plates. He said this means my ABS is ON THE SIDE of the pumpkin. I did see the black "hose" going out to both wheels. The result of this is another $300 spent on the backing plates for the Strange 12 Bolt.

The thing is, I do NOT have Traction Control. I'm 6'2" and 225 lbs., so I am not able to really get under the rear of my Z28 to see well.

Is it pretty much a guarantee that if I don't have TC that my ABS will be on the top? Sorry for sounding like a stupid nut but almost 3 grand is on the line here..

Thanks again!

YAY!!!! I can still get the Strange 12 Bolt!

This is why I started this stupid thread....(pasted)

"Good morning Tom,
The sensor is usually on the pumpkin if your car doesn't have traction control. I've never seen one on the axle of a non-traction control car but Strange says that they have seen a few like this. One option would be to pull off one tire and see if you have the sensor there or maybe pull two tires onto a sidewalk to get enough room to slide under there. I know this is a pain in the butt, but I want to make sure you get the correct part. It should be on the pumpkin but if you have that kind of luck your car might end up with it in the axle if you don't check.

Let me know what you are able to find out.

Tom"
