Question Point of panhard bar relocation?

Is there any point of the banhard bar reloction bracket besides making room for true dual exhaust going out of the back? I already have the UMI double adjustable, roto-joint panhard bar...but I'm trying to decide if I'm going to bite the bullet on the relocation kit.

Thanks,

Matt

Thats all its for to allow more room for Ex pipes, Also if your lowered tell them as it needs a mod to be set up right.

Thanks for your input.

I'm not lowered, but it is about a 10% possibillity in the future.

I might go without it for a while then and use the cash for other parts. I have the TSP true duals on the way, but might just leave them dumped for a while. I'd just hate to spend the extra cash for the relocate just for my exhaust and no performance.

I was hoping to hear that it has a slight performance advantage...

There's no performance gain at all, from the PHB relocation kit.
Also, it's only designed for stock height cars, not lowered cars.

I was actually considering getting one for the left turn oval track racing that I do. I'm not talking about the UMI or BMR ones that are meant for clearance either.. I'm talking about the bracket that has multiple holes.. I think Jegs and Unbalanced Engineering sells them. Something to do with effecting roll center... if the roll center is improved turning left and horrible turning right and I only turn left... I'm thinking the experiment might be worthwhile

What if the car is eventually lowered with the double adjustable panhard bar...won't that compensate for it?

No, the problem is that the relocation kit only moves the PHB pivot location on the passengerside body mount. For it not to effect the handling in a negative way you need to move axle tube PHB mount/pivot point down a equal amount.

Our Panhard relocation kit (which UMI is identical) is only for exhaust clearance.

To make one truly effective for modifying roll center you would need to be able to adjust the mounting height on both end of the bar.

bmr, does this have negative effects or need to be modified for lowered cars?

Depends on what the panhard bar looks like after the install.

The ideal position would be for the bar to be perfectly level at ride height.

Anything less than level would be less than ideal (obviously) If the car is lowered you will run a strong possibility of the relocation mount being lower than the rear mount.

The only way to correct this would be as mentioned to use a bracket to lower the axle side of the bar also.

Yeah but what if your turning left on a short oval track the whole time? What if the PHB was mounted real real low on the passenger chassis side?
