Default steering shaft install help

well my front suspension has been back in for a few months now but i didn't hook the steering shaft back up. the portion closest to the firewall goes on without a problem but the lower portion doesn't seem to want to go on at all am i missing something like assembly lube or anti-seize on the nub to help it in place?

Before you install it take a flat head screw driver and pry open the slit on the bottom where it connects just a little(where the lower bolt goes through). When you tighten it down it clamps down on that nub. You just need to open it up a little and it should slide on.
