track bar broke
got off work, pulled out of parking lot right away noticed something didnt feel right, pull over see the track bar snapped dead in the middle. drive slowly home. take it off. now, where to buy new? used at a junk yard is 70. new is 180. looked at umi web site, new solid steel bars for 75.
anyone know any car part stores with good prices and would have one in stock?
and is it ok to still drive as long as i take it easy?

That is your panhard rod and it is not safe to drive without it. It is responsible for keeping the axle under the car laterally. Get whatever is cheap (or you can afford), but most likely, only high end or f-body specific shops will have them in stock.
Edit: If I were you, I would find out why it broke before you buy a new one.

it looks like it was cut. but i dont wanna be paranoid about it, could be worse i suppose. anyway my dad was telling me a solid one (like on the site) would improve handling.
and what are some ways these can just snap like that? it wasnt freezing cold or remotely cold so i cant understand it snapping like that.

Post HQ pictures of both sides of the break... I have seen something like that on swaybars because their quality just sucked all together...
More pictures then someone can make a better judgment.

i know. the only reason its bent the lil bit it is, is from me having to drive home with it snapped and the 2 ends clinking together. it was perfectly straight, just with that break thru it when i pulled over to look.

That's pretty crazy to see one break like that.
I don't recommend driving with out it at all. Like you saw on our site, a new one, tubular design with poly bushings is $74.99. We have them in stock and could get it there pretty quick if needed.
Hope that helps,
Ryan
