Question End-Link Bushing Question

So my RS has some front swaybar stock end-link bushings that are wider than what I see in replacement ones including $4 repair kits from Advance Auto, and including Strano's with his sways. So question is, why are they different, and are the smaller (narrower) bushings somehow better than the stockers? If so, how so?

TIA!

The stock endlink bushings I pulled off my car were pancaked due to age...I'd imagine yours were probably the same. Have you compared a set of new OEM endlink bushings with a set of aftermarket ones?

In general, stock bushings suck because they're soft and allow deflection.

Yeah, I believe stock endlink bushings are delrin, not rubber that you'd find on many other stock endlink bushings.

EDIT: Also, to answer the OP's question, when you torque your endlinks down you'll see then pack down a lot flatter/wider than when they're new in the package.

Well I'll be damned...my front ones were mashed up so bad, they were falling apart, so I assumed they were just hard-durometer rubber.

Poly bushings take the advantage over rubber in this category I think
