Default Brake ?

I have a 99 ss camaro that I just took the 7.5 rea end out.
I bought a new/used 9" from a friend. It has the 9" big
bearing ends. My question is can I use my factory disc
brakes and if so is there any modifications to be made.
If I cant use them what do I need to get. Thanks

Without knowing what end plates the 9" has installed, it's not possible to answer your question.

Pull the backing plates off your stock rear and check.

I just bought a 9" and was able to install my backing plates and use my factory brakes. If you have any questions feel free to ask. There was a few modifications I had to do.

My rear end has the big 9" ends on it. What mods did you have to
do to yours to make it work. Thanks for the reply.

Mine has 3.25 size ends. I had to buy allen head bolts. They are 1 1/2 inch long. I cant remember the diameter. 3/8? I had to grind a flat spot on each of the bolt heads to allow them to slide along the axle tube and go through the bolt hole. Make sure you have your backing plates on the axle shafts before having the bearings pressed on. the e-brake cable braket needs to be cut. Get rid of the U shape and only keep the part the cable mounts to.
