Which Replacement Shock? Main Priority Ride
I tried to do some searching, but did not find what I was looking for. I have a 1995 TA with 2xx,xxx miles on it and it is needing some suspension help. It rides really rough and I am just trying to get it back up and enjoyable to drive again. I have recently replaced the lca's and ph bar with some nice UMI double polymount pieces so now I am ready to move onto the shocks. My main priority is ride, but I do still like to speed around some corners from time to time. What would be the best shock for my stock ride/suspension car? I know I can go with some Monroe's at the parts store for around $200 or I can get some Bilsteins for around $375. Would the bilsteins ride as well as say a stock replacement shock from the parts house or would they be more performance oriented? Thanks for your help and any suggestions will be appreciated. Also is there anything else I should be looking at replacing? I am on a budget, but I would really like to get this car back to riding well.

Bilsteins are a great choice, next get rid of the poly PHB and LCA's, go back to fresh rubber bushings. Poly doesn't improve ride (or handling really, it's a placebo effect), it makes it worse.

Monroe or stock replacements are not really going to help your cause- they ride like **** and are cheap for a reason.
Go for SLP bilstiens: http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...D=20&ModelID=7

Bilstein, either SLP or HD. I had the SLPs the ride was excellent and the handling was good too. Used ones can be had for around $200 as well... Stay away from Gabriel, Monroe for these 300+ hp cars. The Billys will be better in every aspect for a longer time.
