Default what could be causing 'torque steer'?

95 T/A street car - just bought it.

around town driving - steering pulls under throttle and when let off.

before we blame any mods done to the car - can someone please explain what could cause a rear drive car to pull under accel and ditch the other way under decel?

driveline not centered?
k-member off center?
simple front end alignment?

I've modded 6 other cars similar to this one - and never had this issue.

any help appreciated
