Suspension affecting launching.
My car is lowered...about 2.5 inches or more from stock height.
I went to the track this weekend with headers, and a tune, and lid, with drag radials
r/t .270
60' 2.003
330 5.6
1/8th 8.504
mph 85.87
It felt like the car bogged off the line...was screaming on the top end but just didn't jump like I thought it would...at first I thought it was the drag radials making it bog from dead hooking, or the stock stall just not working for me...but then I though...what about suspension.
A budy's of mines car ran a 8.3 with the same mods but he has stock suspension and the weather was a tad better than it was this weekend.
Would I be faster going back to stock height? Or should I just go aftermarket springs now anyways.

First of all what kind of springs are you using to get that 2.5" drop, most companies springs run from 1"-1.5" drop? You can get a drag car to work with lowering springs you just have to have the other suspension pieces to make it work. I would look into to doing a set of lower control arm relocation brackets becasue they will help correct the geometry issues you are going to be having with that low of a drop. Secondly I would loo into a good set of drag shocks front and rear. Since the car is so low in the front it is going to have a hard time transferring weight so a good set of drag shock (preferably Strange) would definitely help out. Also if you haven't taken the front sway bar off yet than I would definitely do that because it will help with weight transfer and is cheap and easy to do.

What kind of drag radials are you running? It would honestly be easier if you were stock height or even something closer to 1"-1.5". We have customers using our lowering springs and cutting mid 1.3 60ft times, but they were well setup suspsensions with the correct supporting mods.

It honestly doesn't look like it has been lowered 2.5", if you could take a measurement front and rear on a somewhat level ground from the ground to center of wheel well I can see how much it is really lowered of some baseline numbers I have here.

I swapped my suspension out and noticed a different launch, play with it, they are all made different and do make a difference. Oh, btw, its sitting gangsta as they used to say, like mine was before the swap.
