adj panhard noob checking in
so the car i recently bought has an adj panhard bar (not sure of the brand), but it has the rod ends on either side
i can move the bar with my hand until the stops hit...is this supposed to happen? it feels like there is a lot of of "hop" in the rear (even up to the shifter bouncing up and down)
whats the easiest way to ensure proper adjustment and should it be all lose like that?
thanks

Ah. It should be able to do that - with double rod ends, I'd expect it's an on-car adjustable. You just need to get it set right (plumb bob and a level driveway is the easiest, use those and turn the bar until the axle is properly centered under the car) and then you need to put a wrench on the panhard rod and tighten the jam nuts to prevent the bar from spinning any more.
As far as "hop", a panhard rod shouldn't really affect that sort of thing except in corners.

You are fine, that is just how the rod ends work. They have a large range of motion and you should be able to twist the bar a considerable amount in both directions.
