Default rear spring rate

does anyone know the stock rear spring rate on a 4th gen. I see a lot of people using stock springs for drag racing. I have the BMR's and wandering if it is worth switching or not. I think the BMR's are 170 lb

Default rear spring rate

OK. Thanks a lot. What is usually a good rear spring rate for drag racing with a 6 speed, twin disc, 650+ rwhp on 28x10.5s slicks on a poorly prepped track? 3640lb race weight.

93-97 V6: 95.4 lb/in
93-02 V8, 98-02 V6: 114 lb/in

Back in the day guys liked to get the V6 rears, at least until the V6s started sharing the same rate as the V8s.

Perhaps a touch.

I run stock springs though so maybe someone more in tune with drag racing could help you better but from purely a drag racing perspective, I don't think lowering springs are the best bet because they usually increase rate from stock and give up travel. For drag racing and transferring weight rearward, a little more travel and less rate isn't a bad thing.

That said, you can still make a car with handling oriented springs launch decently. What shocks do you have? The shocks are also a big player in how fast weight gets shifted around.
