What is an adjustable suspension?
What is an adjustable suspension? 
I know what air bags are, but after that I'm lost. So what I want to know is what do adjustable parts like panhard bars, control arms, torque arms do? Do they control the stiffness or is there more to it than that?
How do you know when there adjusted right?
Can someone please explain this to me.
they adjust every aspect of the alignment, usually they have nothing to do with stiffness except in the case of something like an adjustable swaybar or shocks

So is it just to make aligning everything easier. The reason I ask is I'm wanting to do the suspension on my Trans Am and I'm not sure which way to go.

There are a lot of various reasons to go with an adjustable part, and just as many to not. If you would like some suggestions for which parts you'll want adjustable and why, I would be more than happy to help you out.
