Default Welding Subframe Connectors Question?

Hey guys i am going to be welding in my connectors here within the next week or so and was just wondering if anyone has welded them in without pulling up the carpet and if they had any problems doing this.

Agreed, just make sure it's not getting too hot inside the car. I welded my boxed BMR's with no issues.

You really shouldn't be welding a continuious bead long enough to start the carpet/padding on fire anyway. You're dealing with relatively thing sheetmetal. Extreme heat will warp and/or permanently weaken the metal.

If welded as Mitch originally suggested there should be no problem.

1.5 to 2 inches at a time move from one area to another to limit hot spotting.

Should you disconnect the battery?

I always disconnect the battery when I am working on the car. It's good practice.ESPECIALLY when you are doing something like welding.

The places that you weld SFC's to on an Fbody don't have carpet on the other side. This is more of a problem on Mustangs.
