Default Removing front swaybar and brackets

I took off my front sway bar and my car had the extra drivers side bracket and I also took off the little shroud/ splash guard thing that the sway bar went through. Should I put that back on or leave it off? Looks like it might protect the alternator or something?

Yeah it the splash shield for the alternator, I'd put it back on unless you never drive it when its wet outside.

FYI, if you don't plan on reinstalling it, don't throw it away if its in good shape since there not made any more.

Sound advice above -- the previous owner tossed my splash guard and it's tough to find one for purchase!

I ran a long time without one, someone who worked on the car removed it without my permission. I was going through a lot of failing alternators so I ordered a new one while they were still available. They weigh practically nothing, and if it offers some peace of mind, I'd say put it back on since you still have it.

I would just relocate the alternator if its that big of a problem. With that in mind I lived in Washington were it rained for months straight and didn't have the splash guard. I had no problems at all. The alternator was in the stock location. As for Sway bar removal question. I removed that as well its rumored to help with weight transfer/ weight lose. Did it help ? I have no idea. Only time I even noticed its gone is when I push really hard in corners. Other than that nothing really noticeable. Now on the other hand I did remove the front Sway bar on my Silverado and its a BIG difference. Weight transfer is noticeable until tires loose grip then it just comes back down. Worth it Sure
